The two of you go about your life. You run into each other here and there, and then, without warning, the skin is pealed.
Oranges have a texture that can be appreciated. The colour is outstandingly gorgeous. But when all is said and done, it's the inside that we enjoy. Kind of like a friendship isn't it? The inside is what we're after. The softer parts with all their juiciness. Not just the attractive exterior.
Today I interviewed the fourth beautiful woman for my series. A woman who is happy, talented, confident, and giving. But today was also a reveal for her. When I wrote out my list of questions at the beginning of this series, I didn't expect them to spark such depth of emotion in my models. Note to self *always have Kleenex on hand for interviews*. Tough as some questions may be, the truth is, I AM looking for what's on the inside. Karen shared her heart, and parts of her life that few are aware of. It's easy to appreciate the skin of a person. It is crucial to accept their flesh. The raw, exposed parts of them that had once been tucked safely away.
This project is all about the sharing of emotions. Being emotionally naked in a world where physical nakedness is preferred. All you have to do is browse a variety of art work online to find an underlying theme. "Women, you're not beautiful unless you're naked." Those aren't my words, and may not be the intended 'words' of other artists out there. But if a picture is worth a thousand words, then that is what I read over and over again.
