As a creative adult, I have purchased numerous art magazines.I still do when I'm in a shop that sells them; the Artist Magazine, Watercolor Artist, or the Pastel Journal to name a few. I love reading about the artists journey through creativity. I enjoy learning about their techniques, and the art related tips they share. I particularly enjoy the full page photos of breathtaking paintings and soak in the colors, details and textures.
It was both a surprise and delight to learn that I had been selected this year by the Pastel Journal as one of ten pastel painters from around the world who had captured their attention. The article can be found in the December 2016 edition in stores now, and available online at North Light Shop HERE. I'm honored to be in the company of such wonderful painters, on the pages of the Pastel Journal.
A special thank you goes out to Ruth Rogers, the President of Pastel Artists Canada, for her very kind words as quoted on page 27.
Since grade four, my choice of medium has changed from tempera to pastel. Instead of cheap paper I now use high-quality sanded papers and brushes. But my heart continues to echo the same thoughts from my nine-year-old self; "I want to do this for the rest of my life."
